If your business needs help with software written in Clarion – whether it’s fixing or updating an existing program, or writing something new – contact me! I’ve been creating programs in Clarion since the DOS days, and I’m intimately familiar with all the good (and bad) behavior it can exhibit. I was self-employed as a programmer for nearly 40 years (I’m semi-retired now). During that time, I wrote sophisticated Clarion apps for Property Management, Utility Billing, General Ledger Accounting, and Order Processing/Manufacturing (for several different industries). Most of these apps use MS SQL, so I’m very familiar with getting Clarion to “play nice” with SQL. Not to blow my own horn, but I'm quite good at designing SQL databases - and designing software for industry-specific accounting applications.
By the way, during those 40 years, I've pretty much seen it all when it comes to software. I remember having to write my first fixed-length data transfer files: W-2 data from my payroll program, to be sent on diskette to the SSA. It was nothing compared to the EDI stuff some of my programs create nowadays (purchase orders, invoices, etc.) I'm proud to say I even survived Y2K and updating some of my old COBOL programs (and sweating out the first business day of 2000). But, I digress...
Many businesses face a critical challenge: They rely on Clarion-based software systems that have served them well for years, but finding experienced developers who understand this specialized technology is becoming increasingly difficult. Whether you're dealing with:
My journey with Clarion software began with Version 2, and I've grown alongside the technology through every evolution since then. Over four decades of professional programming experience, I've:
My unique combination of technical expertise and business acumen allows me to not just write code, but truly understand and solve the underlying business challenges my clients face.

Utility Billing
A water/sewer utility struggled with a 'canned' customer billing package that didn't meet their needs. Working with them, I:
The improvements resulted in significant efficiency gains and reduced processing errors. The original client used the program for over 15 years; seven other water utilities in the SE bought the package during this time.
We are a privacy window manufacturer located in Pensacola, FL. Ted has been working with us for over 20 years – custom designing and implementing our quoting, ordering, and manufacturing software. The software was designed to handle the over 400,000 complicated SKU combinations we offer. Ted works to satisfy all the requests we have and always finds a way forward. When we purchased our largest competitor, he was able to bring in their SKU’s and order history, even though our systems were not compatible with each other.

We have been working with Ted on our custom program for over 25 years. He has set up a manufacturing, inventory, invoicing, sales, and payables program to meet our specific needs. Over the years, we’ve asked him to upgrade the program as the technology improves and new machinery and operations are added to our company. He is very good at translating what we need to do into a program that meets our company's inventory, manufacturing, and overall operational needs. He solves our programming issues efficiently and continues to make improvements as needed. I recommend Ted for your programming needs as he always gets the job done and is pleasant to work with.
